What’s an optional treatment?
A treatment that is recommended by your dentist that is not listed on your fee schedule or more than the minimum to repair or restore a tooth back to good health and normal function.
P.P.O. (Preferred Provider Organization) is the most common type of dental insurance. The insurance provider gives the members a list of participating dentist they can go to for treatment. The dentist on the list have agreed to a fee schedule that provides you with greater cost savings. They also assist with insurance billing. Most insurance companies will pay 50% on major dental treatments like (crowns, bridges, and partials). They’ll pay 80% for basic treatment like (fillings). They’ll pay up to a 100% for preventative care like (exams, x-rays, and basic cleanings). The annual max per member is from $1,000 to $2,000 per year.
